We at TDS are sure you are aware of the current situation regarding the economy with a particular County council cutting their part of budget to their local Safety Camera Partnership, It has been widely reported in the media that many camera locations are to be "Switched off" This is a misrepresentation of the national situation, most speed enforcement will continue nationally and rightly so, in reality a safety camera partnership concerned may for example have 76 fixed sites in their area, to service these 76 sites they may have only 10 camera sets, so there is a one in seven chance a site may be loaded at any one time, so to say the sites are to be switched off merely means they will be altering the loading schedule to load less sites in any given period, or those camera sets could be deployed in the remaining locations within the particular camera partnership's operational area, this means less cost to the camera partnership concerned. However here is the sting in the tail of what could be a story for some to cheer over, the mobile camera patrols will probably remain and MAY be stepped up, THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A SPEEDING FREE FOR ALL ! There is far less infrastructure cost relating to maintaining a mobile speed camera site so these will remain, in short it is still VITAL you keep your TR30 up to date as the camera situation will be changing even quicker now than before. In short UPDATE YOUR TR30, you can still be caught even though less cameras are loaded, DO NOT GET BLASE because of what you read in the media, you and your license may regret it. Please note, should you see any error code during updates please be aware the camera data MAY not have loaded correctly, either update again or make sure the alert data is in place at your nearest speed camera site.
